The North County Coastal Region in the northern part of San Diego County is the second most populated area in the county after San Diego with nearly 830,000 inhabitants. The district is recognized for its opulence especially in Solana Beach, Rancho Santa Fe, Del Mar, Carlsbad, and Encinitas, where property prices can average over one million dollars. The region is more socially conservative than other parts of the municipal area such as South Bay.
